Mr. Silpe is the Senior Analyst and COO of Berko & Associates, and has been an integral part of the company since he joined in June 2011. Mr. Silpe’s responsibilities include valuation analysis and pricing recommendation on commercial real estate properties based on market studies, cash flow analyses, financial statement analysis, and underwriting potential transactions for highest and best use, having underwritten and analyzed over $20 billion in real estate transactions. Mr. Silpe’s creative insight and into the equity and debt markets have paved the way for countless successful transactions including the recent structuring of a $34mm sale of an industrial loft building to be converted into creative office loft spaces.
A Long Island native, following his graduation from Hofstra University’s Zarb School of Business, Mr. Silpe worked as a project administrator for Merrill Lynch, exposing him to a number of different asset classes and successful investment structures, which led to his passion for real estate.
In addition to his time spent overseeing operations and structuring deals at Berko & Associates, Mr. Silpe has a monthly editorial column in the New York Real Estate Journal, called “Letter of Intent” where he writes about current trends in NYC’s Real Estate Market, and has recently been honored as one of the Commercial Observer’s “Top 30 Under 30” as well as the New York Real Estate Journal’s “Young and Established”.
In his spare time Lee enjoys sports, fishing, and other outdoor activities, and is involved in a number of professional and philanthropic organizations.
